This zoo is gaining popularity for the behavioral displays of its animals, which are close to how the animals naturally are. In the winter, visitors can see lively animals in the cold and snow at events such as those entailing with penguins and seals in an open space comprised of drift ice. During the Asahiyama Winter Festival, an event is held which is referred to as the “Snow Light Zoo”, wherein park hours are extended into the night. The zoo is different from what you’ll see during any other season, so why not get right up close to these animals while you experience the cold and snow?
