Sorachi River Rafting

Rafting on the river inhabited with rare and precious fish.

Autumn, Experiences, Spring, Summer

Sorachi River, flowing from Daisetsu mountain range has different characteristics between upstream and downstream. The upstream remains a primitive river surrounded by unspoiled nature with its water so clear that the river bottom is visible from the surface. Its rapid flow offers visitors a thrilling rafting experience. The downstream which runs through the town flows more gently and even small children can enjoy rafting. With a bit of luck, the precious fish (Ito; Japanese huchen), which live in Asahikawa River but are very rarely seen, may come out and greet you.
