Shibetsu City attempts to promote tourism and revitalize the city through Suffolk sheep and is known as the “town of sheep”. The flesh of Suffolk has a globally high reputation and especially the lamb is known as the best ingredient for French cuisine.
“Hill of Sheep and Clouds” is a tourist facility which offers plenty of chances to freely admire sheep in Shibetsu, the town of sheep. In addition to a dude ranch and a restaurant, the facility holds a wool clipping show and a sheepdog show, as well as a felt craft workshop using wool.
Dishes using the meat of Shibetsu Suffolk are not only served at Hill of Sheep and Clouds but also at various hotels and restaurants in the city.
