Onnenai Wooden Path is found on the eastern side of Kushiro Marsh and the wooden path of 3.1km in total length enables visitors to closely experience the marsh environment that transforms itself with the season. The wooden path is also accessible on wheelchair. Summer in particular is said to be the season in which the marsh becomes colorful with many kinds of flora which are unique to the marsh environment. Bird watching can also be enjoyed as many species of wild birds including cuckoos and great spotted woodpeckers inhabit the area and at night you can watch the illuminating fireflies. The Visitor Center at the entrance of Onnenai Wood Path has been rebuilt and reopened in the spring of 2017 as a museum exhibit hall.
