Daimaruyama Forest Park is a symbolic zone of Hiroo Santa Land. At the “Santa’s House” built within the park various Christmas items are sold and requests for Santa Mails are accepted. During the Christmas season from late October to December the park is decorated with a main Christmas tree and the trees in the park light up with 150,000 light bulbs – romantic nights are arranged at Santa Land which is approved as the “holy land for couples”.
Additionally, from late May through early July, the park is tinted with vivid vermilion with 12,000 shrubs of torch azaleas (Rhododendron obtusum var. kaempferi f. latisepalum). Every year, the “Hiroo Azalea Festival” is held in late May, serving the visitors its specialty, “spring chum salmon stew in a gigantic pot”, and offering the flavor of the season. From July to September, perennial flowers including salvias are bearing flowers in multiple colors at a flower garden, “Santa’s Hill”, delighting the eyes of the visitors.
