Cape Ogon Seaside Park

黄金岬海浜公園

Cape Ogon Seaside Park illuminated by the setting sun.

Autumn, Sights, Spring, Summer

When herring fishing was booming, “Cape Ogon” served as a watchtower for herring. It was named Cape Ogon (literally means golden point) because when a large school of herring arrived here the sunset reflected on the backs of herring and made everywhere look like it was shimmering in gold color. At “Cape Ogon Seaside Park”, fishing crabs by surf fishing can be enjoyed. The view of the rough strange-looking rocks, the sea and the sky are painted completely in orange by the sun setting offshore seen from the point known as the “best sunset in Japan”, stealing the hearts of many people.
