“Hiryu” Garo no Taki is located at the upstream of Chihase River which runs through Shimamaki Village and is selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls of Japan. It’s a large waterfall of 70 m in height and 35 m in width and water spraying from the falling water creates a beautiful rainbow. During summer the contrast of forest landscape and coolness of the waterfall makes this location remarkably refreshing to visit.
In autumn, the surrounding Garo Valley is tinted in autumn colors, offering a stunning view.
Adjacent to the waterfall, there is a place where highly concentrated natural carbonated water called “Dragon Water” springs out and it is worth a try.
