Some refer to Miharashi Park as a great place to view autumn leaves and others refer to it as a little-known hot spot for cherry blossom viewing. In the park, Hokkaido squirrels cheerfully run about, wild birds such as woodpeckers fly over and spot-billed ducks raise ducklings in the pond. Although it is a man-made garden park, it is a place to get in touch with nature in a casual manner. The recommended season is autumn. At Miharashi Park, which is famous as the scenic site of autumn leaves, “Hakodate MOMI-G Festa” is held from late October until early November. Rows of maple trees with autumn-tinted leaves are magically lit up, fascinating the visitors.
Red and yellow autumn leaves glistening at night are sure to take the visitors’ breath away with their beauty.
